Frédéric Tranchand
French orienteer turned trail runner from Chuyer in the Loire, Frédéric Tranchand spent more than a decade on the French national orienteering team — winning seven World Orienteering Championships medals between 2010 and 2019 — before becoming one of the world's best short-trail and skyrunning specialists. He announced himself in the discipline by finishing second to Kílian Jornet at the 2020 Sierre-Zinal time trial, and reached the top of the sport in 2025 by winning the world short-trail title at Canfranc, following up with the 2026 European trail title in Slovenia.
