Born in Valloire in 1975, Pommeret is a computer engineer who worked for Swiss air traffic control (Skyguide) before retiring in 2025 at age 50 to become a full-time professional athlete. He lives between Switzerland and Savoie, and notably won the Hardrock 100 at age 49, breaking Kilian Jornet's course record. His wife Céline also shares his passion for trail running - in 2021, he put his own career on hold to help her achieve her dream of finishing the Diagonale des Fous.
