Chinese mountain and trail runner from rural Guizhou, the first Asian woman to win a UTMB Mont-Blanc race (CCC, 2018) and back-to-back OCC champion in 2024 and 2025. After a 2018 breakout that included Hong Kong 100, Lavaredo 120K runner-up, and CCC wins, Yao stepped away from international racing for several years before returning with Salomon to become one of the most decorated trail runners in Asia.
